self raising flour (or plain flour
(1 tsp) baking powder)
Pinch salt
(1 tsp) mixed spice
(4oz) margarine
(3oz) caster sugar
(3oz) dried fruit
1 egg and a little milk
Serves 4-6
Sieve flour and salt into bowl and rub in fat.
Add sugar, fruit, spice, beaten egg, and only enough milk to make
stiff dough
Place in required portions on greased baking sheets.
Bake:
425°F 15-20 mins
